BharatPe Appoints Former RBI Deputy Governor BP Kanungo and Zomato Chairman Kaushik Dutta
Bharatpe has appointed BP Kanungo, former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and Kaushik Dutta, current Chairman of Zomato, as the Independent Directors of Fintech Firm Bharatpe.
Previously, former Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI), Rajnish Kumar was the director of the company.
The Bhartpe will now have, two executive directors on the board of directors, Shashvat Nakrani and Suhail Sameer (CEO), five non-executive directors, four investor nominees, and two independent directors.

JIMEX 2022: India-Japan joint naval drills in the Bay of Bengal begins
The sixth edition of Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2022 (JIMEX 22), hosted by the Indian Navy, began in the Bay of Bengal.
The Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) ships are being led by Rear Admiral Hirata Toshiyuki, Commander Escort Flotilla Four, and Indian naval ships by Rear Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet.
The Indian Navy is represented by three indigenously designed and built warships, Sahyadri, a multi-purpose stealth frigate and Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvettes Kadmatt and Kavaratti.
Additionally, Guided Missile Destroyer Ranvijay, Fleet Tanker Jyoti, Offshore Patrol Vessel Sukanya, submarines, MIG 29K fighter aircraft, Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft and ship-borne helicopters are also participating in the exercise. The Indian Naval ships welcomed JMSDF ships Izumo, a Helicopter Carrier, and Takanami, a Guided Missile Destroyer, on their arrival in the Bay of Bengal.
The book published by HarperCollins Publishers India will be launched in September 2022.

M. Damodaran To Lead Panel on Venture Capital And Private Equity Investments
The government has constituted an expert committee to suggest ways for scaling up of VC/PE investments, as per a circular issued by Finance Ministry on September 13.
The six-member panel will be headed by former SEBI chairman M Damodaran.
The expert committee will examine and suggest appropriate measures to address regulatory and other issues to enable scaling up investments by Venture Capital and Private Equity Investment, the ministry said.

Vedanta And Foxconn to Invest 1.54 Lakh Crore In Gujrat For Chip Manufacturing
The Anil Agarwal-led-Vedanta Limited and Foxconn Group will invest more than Rs 1.54 lakh crore to set up an semiconductor ecosystem in Gujarat.
The oil-to-metals conglomerate said Vedanta Displays Limited will set up a Display Fab Unit with an investment of Rs 94500 crore and Vedanta Semiconductors Limited will set up an integrated Semiconductor Fab Unit and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility with investment of Rs 60000 crore.
