1)India Pavilion At Global Education & Training Exhibition Inaugurated At Dubai
The ‘Study in India Pavilion’ at the Global Education & Training Exhibition (GETEX) in Dubai has been inaugurated by the Consul General of India in Dubai, Dr. Aman Puri.
Organized by the Services Export Promotion Council with the support of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, the India Pavilion at GETEX 2023 is being held from 26-28 April 2023 at Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai, UAE. The pavilion, spanning over 200 sqm, features more than 30 universities and edtech stakeholders of Indian higher education.
Dr Aman Puri expressed his excitement at the increasing number of Indian institutions expanding their global reach. He also highlighted that India is an ideal destination for students looking to pursue technologies like Data Science and Cybersecurity.
2)PM inaugurates 6th Edition of One Earth One Health
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed that India’s goal is wellness and welfare for everyone and making healthcare accessible and affordable. He said that reducing disparity is the country’s priority. He said, true progress is people-centric and healthcare access must be assured to the last person at the last mile.
The Prime Minister said this while virtually inaugurating the sixth edition of One Earth One Health – Advantage Healthcare India 2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi today.
Highlighting the importance of a resilient global healthcare system, the Prime Minister said, the global response to healthcare challenges cannot be isolated. He said, it is time for an integrated, inclusive, and institutional response and this is one of the country’s focus areas during the G20 presidency.
Lauding the country’s affordable and accessible healthcare ecosystem, Mr. Modi said, country has the world’s largest government-funded health insurance coverage scheme. He said, the Ayushman Bharat initiative covers over 500 million people with free medical treatments serving over 40 million people.

Pushkaralu Festival
The 12-day Pushkaralu festival is being celebrated in Varanasi. This Pushkaralu festival is Ganga Pushkaram.
The festival is known as Pushkaralu (in Telugu), Pushkara or Pushkar. It is a festival that comes every 12 years due to a special combination of planetary transits. According to astrology, every river is associated with a zodiac sign and the festival starts when Jupiter moves from one zodiac to another.
Pushkaralu is considered to be one of the most sacred periods when devotees visit different holy rivers to take a holy dip. The twelve most significant rivers that flow in India are Ganga, Narmada, Yamuna, Saraswati, Bhima, Pushkar, Tungabhadra, Sindhi and Pranahita.

World Development Report 2023
Recently, the World Bank published the World Development Report 2023: Migrants, Refugees & Societies.
The report estimated a 120% income gain for Indians who migrate to another country for work, compared to a 40% rise in the case of internal migration.
Highlights:
- An Increase in Income: Under-skilled Indian citizens migrating to the US noticed a hike in their income of nearly 500%, followed by the UAE by almost 300%.
- Overview of Global Migration and Refugees: There are currently 184 million migrants globally, which is 2.3% of the population, including 37 million refugees.
- Top Migration Corridors: India -US, India-GCC and Bangladesh-India have been identified to be among the top migration corridors globally along with Mexico-US, China -US, Philippines-US and Kazakhstan-Russia.

PM to inaugurate national games in Oct: Goa CM
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Games in Goa in October 2023. The announcement was made after a meeting between Sawant, State Sports Minister Govind Gaude, and Indian Olympic Association chairperson PT Usha to review preparations for the event.
The National Games will begin on the day of the inauguration and continue until November 10, 2023. The event is expected to showcase some of the best sporting talent from across the country.

Dalai Lama Gets 1959 Ramon Magsaysay Award In Person After 64 Years
After a 64-year wait, members of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation personally presented the 1959 Ramon Magsaysay Award to the Dalai Lama at his residence. The award was the first international recognition given to the spiritual leader for his exceptional leadership of the Tibetan community’s courageous fight in safeguarding their sacred religion, which serves as the foundation of their culture and way of life. The award was given by the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation in the Philippines in August 1959.
