Amit Shah inaugurated Vedic Heritage portal in New Delhi
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Vedic Heritage portal in New Delhi.The primary aim of the portal is to communicate the messages enshrined in the Vedas and make it more accessible to the common people.
According to Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, the Vedic Heritage portal now has audio-visual recordings of the four Vedas.These recordings contain over 18,000 mantras of the four Vedas, with a total duration of over 550 hours.

❖ The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) released the 78th round Multiple Indicator Survey (MIS) report
❖ Kerala, Manipur, Nagaland, and Jharkhand have less than 90% access to an improved source of drinking water.
❖ Among major states, Assam, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Odisha are among the worst in access to tapped drinking water for both rural and urban households.
❖ Among the major states Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha have the lowest proportion of rural households with access to an exclusive toilet.
❖ In Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Nagaland and Madhya Pradesh, for more than 70% of households, firewood is the primary source of energy for cooking.
❖ During the survey period, 16.1% of males and 43.8% of females aged 15-24 years,were not studying, working, or training.
❖ Less than 50 % of people who were aged 18 or above had exclusive access to mobile phone
❖ Among big states, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Kerala, and Delhi have the highest proportion (more than 20%) of men aged 15 to 24 who were not in education,employment, or training.
❖ For females, the proportion was highest in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Bihar.

New species of Moray eel discovered off Cuddalore coast named after Tamil Nadu
❖ A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has discovered a new species of Moray Eel fish from the Cuddalore coast in Tamil Nadu.
❖ The new species has been named “Gymnothorax Tamilnaduensis” after Tamil Nadu and has been given the common name of “Tamil Nadu brown moray eel”.
❖ A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) have discovered a new species of moray eel fish in the Cuddalore coast, which has been named Gymnothorax Tamilnaduensis or Tamil Nadu brown moray eel.
Re-adoption of Anti-gaming bill
❖ The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Thursday re-adopted the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Bill, 2022 without anychanges
❖ An ordinance was promulgated by the Governor on October 1, 2022 and was notified in the gazette on October 3, 2022.
❖ It was followed by a Bill which was adopted in the Assembly on October 19, 2022.
❖ It was sent to the Governor for assent on October 26, 2022.
❖ After 141 days, the governor returned it on March 6 stating the legislature lacked the legislative competence to enact the bill.

A Multi-Domain Exercise Vayu Prahar held at LAC
❖ Recently, during the on-going tensions between India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Indian Army and Air Force carried out a 96-hour joint exercise named ‘Vayu Prahar’ in the eastern region.
❖ The exercise aimed to develop plans to achieve synergy in multi-domain operations by using air and land forces.
❖ It was conducted in the second week of March, and its primary objective was to enhance coordination between the Army and Air Force for effective operations in a multi-domain battlefield.

Anti-Submarine Craft INS Androth
❖ The INS Androth, second in a series of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), was launched in Kolkata.
❖ It is designed to conduct anti-submarine operations in coastal waters, low intensity maritime operations and mine laying operations.
❖ The first ship of the series, the INS Arnala, was launched three months ago.
