1)PM Modi Inaugurates NAMO Medical College In Silvassa
Daman: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the NAMO Medical Education & Research Institute at Silvassa town in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. After inaugurating the medical college, the first in the Union Territory, he inspected facilities on the campus.
The medical college complex has been constructed at a cost of ₹ 203 crore and houses a multi-storey library, an academic block with four lecture halls and an auditorium, club house, residential accommodation for faculty, and hostels for students besides outdoor and indoor sports facilities.
2)G20 Park: Delhi’s Waste-to-Wonder Concept Aligns with PM’s Vision for a Sustainable Future
India has put forward a proposal to construct a G20 park in Delhi that will serve as a representation of global unity on the path of development. According to sources, PM Modi has been closely monitoring the park’s concept development. The park, which will be located at the Shanti Path and Ring Road junction, will be based on the theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” The sculptures in the park will depict the national animals and birds of the G20 countries and will be created using the “waste to wonder” concept. Each sculpture will be made from scrap and other waste materials sourced from the New Delhi Municipal Council’s yards and other agencies.
According to officials, the idea of a G20 park enhances Delhi’s identity as a city that values art and culture. Artists from various Indian states, including Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Haryana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh, are currently working on creating national birds and animals of different G20 countries

India’s first heavy lift drone
- Odisha Chief Minister launched the first of its kind heavy lift logistics drone.
- It is made by Odisha-based start-up ‘BonV Aero’.
- In its next phase, the startup aims to develop its flagship platform ‘RM002’ that can transport 200 kilograms of freight over 40 kilometres.

Key Decisions at Army Commanders Conference 2023
The Indian Army recently concluded its Army Commanders Conference (ACC), which was held from April 17-21. The conference was attended by the Army Commanders, Director-General of Military Operations, and various other senior officers. It was held in a hybrid mode for the first time, with both in-person and virtual participation.
The aim of the conference was to review and discuss the Army’s operational preparedness and modernization plans. Several major decisions were taken during the conference, including the induction of a large number and variety of niche tech-enabled equipment, such as drones, electronic warfare, and anti-drone apparatus.

Neeli Bendapudi to receive Immigrant Achievement Award
The Indian American president of Penn State University, Neeli Bendapudi will be receiving the prestigious Immigrant Achievement Award for her contributions to US higher education this year.
Every year, this award is given to the person or any organization that has shown a commitment to upholding the heritage of America as a nation of immigrants and advocating for humane immigration policy.
Neeli became the first woman to hold the position of president at Penn State University. She also served as the President of the University of Louisville from 2018 to 2021 and received both national and university-level recognition for her contributions.
